All righty then. I just bought a Chambers. Don't even have it home yet. It's still at the place I bought it. But I'm looking around for info on the web and can't wait to get cookin. I'm looking for anyone in the Louisville KY area that might be a mentor to me as I get it all cleaned up and checked out and ready to cook. Anyone around? I'm also new to HostBoard.

Hi Crow,
Welcome to the board. You'll find all the info you need right here. You can get manuals for your range from a couple people here on the board.

Once you master the "Cooking with the gas off" in the oven and learn to love the Thermowell, you'll find you have a lot of extra time for porch sitting. No ovens to keep an eye on, no pots to stir, just good old fashioned sit back and let 'er cook dishes. Perhaps your union should officially endorse the Chambers Range as the official range of...people who like to sit, relax and enjoy themselvs. Even without the endorsement, your range will reign superior in your home and you will truly love it. Naturally, you'll soon be on the lookout for a vintage fridge, toaser, coffeemaker, waffle iron, blender, coffee grinder, mixmaster, knife sharpener and finally, a vacuum to keep it all tidy.

Many thanks for the encoragement. We have the other vintage appliances or do without them all together. We live in the 1940s here at Professional Porch Sitters Union Local 1339. Working to cut our energy consumption to the greatest extent possible and thought cooking with the gas off sounded like another strategy to get there. I look forward to learning all about Chambers cooking soon.
